children soliders

In the spring of 2003, three young Americans set out for Africa, in search of adventure and a story. They found what they were looking for. They found a tragedy that changed their lives and has since changed the lives of many who have heard the story. They found the invisible children of Uganda.

  1. In the Movie “Invisible children” they show the harsh condition these people live in. The people of uganda are in war right now. The rebel are attacking peope killing people, and the government cant control it. The only way for them to control it is b putting these people in camps. In the camps the people live very poor, harsh conditions. They have little money, No material thing, and bad hygene. These peole had nothing compared to what they have at there old home. The kids get abducted by these rebels, so there forced to hide. They sleep on the floor of the schools, and churches just to stay safe. Sometimes theres hundreds of kids in these rooms. Many of the kids lost there parents and don’t fear aything nomore. The kids that are abducted either are trained to be killers or killed in the bush. The girls are forced to become second wifes or be killed. These kids feel like they rather die then be in that part of the earth. All they want is peace for this country, and that’s all then need. As long as the war is still going, conditions will get worse. I think that they need all the help they can get.

Today I watched the movie "Invisible children" and this video I have seen while I was in juvenile hall. This movie opened my eyes and let me know that I have a lot of things that these kids have never even seen with their own eyes. These kids are very brave because they go to extreme lengths to survive. They do things that kids here would never do. I admire these kids in a way that I wish I can go over there and help them. The thing that shocked me though is that men picked up regular bags off the streets and use them as condoms. That’s extremely un-sanitary. There are other third world countries out there and they still need help. So when is the U.S. going to put in and help them even more. Yea the U.S. is doing their best but they can do more. Nothing can surprise me anymore. I thought the world was all good and gravy but I was wrong. Like I said this video opened my eyes and I thanked my mom for everything I have. I work hard for everything I have and I am blessed. I learned a lot watching this video.

  3. In the video “Invisible Children’s” they showed the harsh of kids little kids working at night to get their own food if not they would starved. So many of this kids and families in Sudan, Kenya and Uganda don’t have the medication food or even clothes to survive out there. Some of these kids would leave a herd of kids to go sleep under a dark place to go to sleep, even if it was soak and wet. They would wake up at dawn to wash their faces and start there thing. When they would go the place they called “The Bush”, they would teach them how to kill people and how to fight other kids. They would also recruit kids who would be able to get brain wash to kill other people and massacre them. Some of the girls in Uganda are getting involved of having sex also the boys; they would find trash bags to use as condoms. Some of these families are poor because of the war against the rebels. I think what people in America should do is help this kids and families on doing a charity to get them new stuff.

  4. The movie I watched was more horrible because of the way they would treat them. The rebels would kid nap kids to use them as soldiers. They would train them to kill and kill only. When the kids would be abducted by the rebels they would get taken to the dessert but they call it the bush. When the people from the video got to the village they saw a truck in front of them get shot down and the people in it were killed.
The people from the video went looking to other villages were for people and the first village they got to was empty. So they went some were else and asked around were was every body at and the soldiers told them that they were in jolu in a village were there was a hospital were people would hide. They went under the hospital and they saw tons of kids just lying around on the floor. There these four kids that would live there and were they slept was deep in their were it would get flooded. They would mop and clean it every night and it rained two to three days strait.
The people from the video were having trouble adjusting to the weather and they would throw up and get fevers. They interviewed some kids that were abducted and escaped they were not kids any more. The kids would fight have nightmares and wake up at night screaming and yelling. Other just stayed scarred and would not say any thing and other ones just lost every thing they had in this world that they loved. When they were living they interviewed this kid that lost his big brother and just broke out crying and even the people that made the video started crying too.

This movie was about the suffering of the people from Uganda .The war is in Sudan, but everybody moves to cams in Uganda. The war all started because of this lady called Alice Lakwena. She was possessed and her possessions were giving her ideas of taking over the government. So her cousin became the leader of the know LRA. LRA was a group of people, who later became soldiers who were trying to take over the government. Now the war has lasted up to 20 years. Now all the people from there are suffering. A lot of little kids are getting abducted and being forced to be child soldiers. Little kids have also lost their families, and are left alone to take care of themselves. A lot of the people are now amputees, due to “casualties” of the war. Kids also sleep under houses, fearing the rebels capturing them. At an orphanage where this lady take care of about 150 kids, the kids only get fed once a day in there. I think this is all very sad. Something should be done, little kids that were born did not know what they were coming into to, and now the little kids are the ones suffering the most.

  6. Richard-
This was a really sad story like the other one. The thing is i think that the children go trough a rough life. The movie really had a reflection on me because the war has really affected the people. The rebels by the sound of it are really cruel. The children are the ones to seem to need the most help. The children seem to grow up faster htan any child here in the U.S. That just shows that they are capable of doing better than any kid here. I think the children should get a chance at least to do good. The most cruel thing i think that is happening is that the government ios not doing anything to help. Thje government from Africa should put their foot down and do the best they can to kill off every rebel. The reason i think that is because then the U.S will use that to say things like we are the best country. They would say that because the struggle of a government in another country is showing that they are weak. The people seem to be really scared of the rebels and i understand why. The people should just join the fight against thegovernment to start a new one. The children are the future and they ae the ones who have the power to stop this madness.

  7. Watching this movie I learned that the war has been going on for twenty years and that it is between the North and the South. I don’t like seeing these videos because they make me feel guilty. I feel so bad for the children who are being targeted. Its crazy to see how they can still be happy and sing and dance in the situation they're in. It seems like the music helps them forget about the problems they are having. The movie also showed that a lot of the people living in the camps are mentally ill and unstable. Their minds aren't right because of the war and having to go through everything they have went through. The children are alone and have to fend for themselves. A lot of the children were abducted and then escaped from the LRA. These kids have nothing, literally. They don’t have shelter, clothes, food, blankets or their families. It is heartbreaking to see that this is really going on. People act like Africa is in another world, but these people are human beings too. I really do hope that something happens about the wars in Africa.

  8. Three guys Laren, Bobby, and Jason decided to take a trip to Africa. One of them haven’t traveled further than Mexico and has never been anywhere else. They were curious of what was outside of what they have been experiencing. They believed that the media defines most of people’s lives in America and that the media takes over society's lives and wanted to travel out for the real truth, and to see the reality beyond the media. They first arrive to Kenya and didn’t expect certain things to happen. At first they were disappointed that they weren’t getting a story they wanted. All they have shot were them killing a snake and documenting someone cutting a chicken’s head off and someone opening a bottle cap with their teeth. They notice a lot of foster children that lost their parents due to the AIDS epidemic. Two million are sick and 5 million that are sick are headed to Sudan. Then they stop at Gulo and found children who were former soldiers and they noticed that they stuck together as family. The Lords resistance army believed in witchcraft and spirits and were abducting children. The children who were abducted were brainwashed and are mentally scarred to kill and abduct more children into the army. The former soldier children compete for space in verandas, hospitals, etc. They seek shelter and to hide from the rebels. All the children are hoping for is survival and peace.
